The night markets are the best thing to do if you are in the area. It has a lot (a LOT) of fake football shirts and souviners but also Malaysian food stalls and dessert stalls (try apom pancakes if you find a stall! They are light and delightful)

Tropical Fruit Farm
Penang Hill has great views of both the city and the coast. You can also hike from the bottom to the top but this is very hard. Instead, the recommendation is to go to the top and walk around the top. You can take the fernicular up (and down) or the cable car might be up and running by that time!

If you want a relaxed day among the plants the Botanic Gardens are the place to be. They are quite expansive and you can spend the whole day there walking around and looking at the plants. Think big leaves and not as many colourful flowers. Feel free to pack lunch if you want to spend the day there.
