QnA
When do I need to RSVP by?
Please RSVP by 15 December or ASAP so we can get a proper headcount :)
Is Malaysia safe?
Malaysia and Penang are very safe places - and most people will speak English. If you get lost feel free to ask anyone, or to use someone's phone. However - we have some organised activities to explore George Town and the surrounds in case you don't want to go out alone.
What should I wear?
Malaysia is a Muslim country, so you may be more comfortable reaching for loose clothing but Penang is a very multi-cultural place, you can pretty much wear what you want.
For the celebration - look at our Ceremony + venue page for some inspo. Think colourful, semi-formal but no ties and no need to buy new shoes. We don't care if you rock up in converse or birks if you want.
What's the weather going to be like?
Malaysia is a warm, tropical climate. If it rains it comes in bursts (but still warm). Pack a light jacket and the rest prepare for warm weather.
Ceremony questions
How do I get to the venue?
You can ask your hotel for a taxi number or download the 'Grab' app - it's the Uber in Southeast Asia.
The venue is about an hour from Penang city. If you are staying in George Town give plenty of time (1+ hours, the traffic there can get a bit crazy).
If you get to the area early, you can always come hang at our hotel, or go to the venue - Asad will be there.
Is the ceremony inside or outside?
Our ceremony’s outside, but Penang is warm, and a tent will be set up if the weather is moody.
Can we use our phones during the ceremony?
We will have a photographer and film cameras to take snaps. Please hold off on photos during the ceremony, we'd love you to be present.
